Project description
The ”DEMOCReAȚIE” project aims to change the way the citizens of Dancu relate to everything that happens around them: whether we are talking about public space, citizen involvement, politics, environment, on a local or a global scale. The activities of the project were aimed at raising awareness of the importance of citizens’ involvement and participation in voting.

The project DEMOCReAȚIE took place during the period July - October 2020, with over participants 40 participants from the Holboca commune and Iași city, as well as direct beneficieries other 6000 persons
Main activities::
- 1 citizens involvement workshop (August 22), where young people learned what their rights and obligations are, discussed issues and solutions that can be addressed for the context in which Dancu is, and the importance of participation in voting, they learned ways and tools of citizen involvement;
- 1 Visual Storytelling workshop (August 23), where young people learned how to use phone to take photos, and to photo-document an event;
- 1 activist art workshop (September 13), where young people learned about: critical and creative thinking, the relationship between art / artist and political involvement, art as a form of social involvement and how to make stencils and banners;
- painting of the PTZ 6 in the central area of the Dancu neighborhood (10-15 September) by: Kaps Krew, Grafo and Bea Hopes; Kaps Krew, Grafo and Bea Hopes,
- 1 exhibition on the importance of citizen involvement and voting (September 16 - October 16), photos were taken by participants in the visual storytelling workshop.
Objectives
- Encouraging citizen involvement among 25 young people from Dancu village, Holboca commune, Iași county during July - October 2020.
- Encouraging the participation in voting among 25 young people from Dancu village, Holboca commune, Iași county during July - October 2020.
Results
- 40 young participants from Holboca commune and Iași municipality;
- a photo exhibition on citizen involvement and voting;
- 4 street art works totaling 100 sqm that encourage citizen involvement and voting in the center of Dancu neighborhood;
- at least 6000 inhabitants from Holboca commune and Iași municipality were made aware of the importance of citizen involvement and participation in voting.
