Emotion, joy, art, culture, novelty and community are the key words describing the project “Urban Art Caravan”, the third edition, funded through the “În Stare de Bine” program, supported by Kaufland Romania and implemented by the Civil Society Development Foundation.

We continued our intervention in the cultural and civic period in the communes Tiganasi and Dumestiand we added a new commune to the Caravan's portfolio - Popricani.

The third edition addressed the diverse needs and interests of over 300 children and young people from the targeted areas, as well as the extended community.

The activities carried out were:

  • 5 murals created by Harcea Pacea, Milli Lupu (from the commune of Țigănași), Vladude, and Frag.menta;
  • 9 civic engagement workshops (facilitated by: Ana Preotu);
  • 8 drawing workshops (facilitated by: Harcea Pacea, Frag.menta, and Vladude);
  • 9 street dance workshops (facilitated by: Quasar Dance);
  • 9 phone photography workshops (supported by Ciprian Minea, Mihaela Minea, and Marian Tarus);
  • 6 spectacole jonglerii cu foc (susținute de FOCus POCus);
  • 6 fire juggling shows (supported by FOCus POCus);
  • 9 juggling workshops (facilitated by: FOCus POCus);
  • 9 beatbox workshops (facilitated by: Gras Beatbox);
  • 3 final events (3 community debates, 3 exhibitions with artworks and photos made by workshop participants, and other members of the communities, 3 shows - Talent Gala, where community members created a show with artistic, demonstrative and sports moments).

The project through the participants’ lens::

With the help from the Caravan, children and young people developed their artistic and civic knowledge, attitudes, and skills through non-formal education. They also became aware that change is also up to them, therefore they have the power to influence things, and it is much easier for them if they join forces. 

For many of the young people reached by the Caravan, it is the first time performing in front of an audience. This experience gives them the opportunity to explore their creativity and gives them confidence and courage to pursue their passions.
